Become a Volunteer

And help build Haltpop

Together we make Haltpop

Haltpop runs entirely on volunteers. People who build, work, think along and together ensure that the festival can exist.

Whether you help for one day or work the entire weekend — you belong.

Where can you help?

You make sure that visitors who come to the bar leave satisfied. Tapping, pouring, serving, you do it all. You also refill the refrigerators and other supplies. But above all, you make sure the bar becomes the most fun place to be! During your shift you work in our bar with the most fun team and best bar manager. You are a point of contact for festival visitors and create the atmosphere!

For catering shifts we ask you to obtain a Responsible Alcohol Service certificate, where you learn how to deal with certain situations. Please note: to work a shift at the festival bar you must be at least 18 years old.

As a merchandiser, you are responsible for selling festival items such as shirts, caps and other fun stuff. You help visitors with their purchases and make sure the merchandise stand always looks neat.

During the festival, many things can happen 'suddenly', such as an adjustment to the fence line, refilling toilet paper, or changing a keg at the bar. During the grounds/runner-shift, you provide flawless solutions and are ready to help your fellow volunteers. This shift is flexible, fun and challenging. You áłways work together with a few other helping hands!

You are not easily starstruck, know how to make conversation, can quickly find solutions and create a really nice atmosphere backstage! That's why you are thé point of contact for the artists. Together with the hospitality team, you support the artists, make sure the dressing rooms are in order and that every artist feels welcome, has a great time and goes home or continues the tour with a satisfied feeling.

As an entrance scanner, you are the first Haltpop face that visitors will see. So it's your task to make the visit to Haltpop unforgettable right from the entrance. With a big smile you scan the tickets, hand out the wristbands and return tokens and wish everyone a great day at Haltpop.

Oh, and no worries about difficult visitors or bag checks, security is there to assist you during the inspection.

Together with the construction team, you ensure that all objects end up in the right place. You help place the fence lines, build the bar and put all supplies and decorations in the right place. The construction takes several days, it is possible to help for part of the days. If you help for several days, it is possible to camp on the festival grounds with your fellow builders in consultation.

During construction, food and drinks are provided. We also do fun things together in the evening, such as playing games or swimming. The construction days are perfect to get to know your fellow volunteers better and to already experience a good dose of festival anticipation.

Of course, after the festival everything has to be torn down and cleaned up. Together with the teardown crew, you make sure everything quickly disappears from the grounds.

If you can only help with the construction or only with the teardown, you can indicate this in the registration form. So it is not mandatory to be there for the entire construction and teardown. All helping hands are welcome. If you have a valid forklift certificate, please let us know when you register.

The entire Haltpop team works on a voluntary basis. Throughout the year there are volunteers who commit themselves to organizing a large festival in July. Within the organization we work with core groups, small groups of volunteers who deal with a specific part of the festival. The following core groups are currently active:

  • Team Decoration
  • Team Events
  • Team Bar
  • Team Stage and technology
  • Team Hospitality
  • Team grounds, map and setup and teardown

Haltpop wants to offer as many people as possible the space to develop, learn and gain experience working at festivals and events. The core groups offer the space to immerse yourself in specific parts, together with other volunteers. Experience or not, with an active attitude you can always join a core group. These groups are always developing: over time, other groups may be added or split up. A good idea or fresh initiative is always welcome!
